The results? During the 45-day study, the mice that received the drug showed an increase in both body weight and appetite. The mice given lime essential oil displayed a reduction in both body weight and appetite. When both lime oil and the drug were given, both weight loss and appetite reduction occurred.
The study suggests that lime essential oil may play an important role in weight loss. And, the oil could be useful for treating drug-induced obesity and related diseases. In the study, the researchers also analyzed over 20 components of lime essential oil. They concluded that limonene is the primary component responsible for weight loss. Approximately 28.8% of lime essential oil is limonene.

A study in Autonomic Neuroscience analyzed olfactory stimulation with grapefruit and lavender oils. The olfactory system is your sense of smell.
