What are the daily multivitamin supplements benefits? Should you be taking them or are they all marketing hype? Let's look at the truth behind multivitamins.

Would you like to have healthier appearing skin? A better body? More energy? Resistance to common colds? Less stress? Shed those extra view pounds? These phrases are all so familiar when reading the labels and advertisements of many over the counter multivitamins; however, are daily multivitamin supplements benefits really able to live up to their claims? Can a single pill be the cure to all of these ailments? This a question many of us ask and would like to believe.

Daily Multivitamin Supplements Benefits

Experts say there is definitely a place for daily multivitamin supplements or mineral supplements in our diets, but their primary function is to fill in small nutrient gaps. They are “supplements” intended to add to your diet, not take the place of real food, a healthy meal plan, or exercise.

Daily multivitamin supplements and other dietary supplements are not meant to be a food or exercise substitute. In other words, they do not have the ability, benefits or nutrients that whole foods and real exercise offer for your body. They can act as “fillers” for nutrition gaps in a diet but it is a misconception if you think daily vitamin and mineral supplements are the golden ticket to a healthy well-being. The true path to good health is on the plate and in the gym, not in a pill.

Now that it is known that daily multivitamins should be used only supplements in the human diet, the benefits of taking multivitamins can be advantageous. The human body needs various vitamins and minerals on a daily basis to keep itself healthy, alive and thriving.

Each and every different vitamin and mineral supplement has their own significances and vital roles in the body. Since a multivitamin offers them to be taken in an easy pill form, its benefit is that it is a fast and easy way to make sure that you are fulfilling your body’s need for the vitamins and minerals. However, we are supposed to get all of these essential nutrients every day from food in our daily diet.

Unfortunately in today’s society, the problem exists where the typical human diet often fails to meet our body’s natural requirements. When the food that we are consuming falls short and does not cover all the essential nutrients, a supplement can help fill in the missing pieces of the puzzle of good health. Daily multivitamin supplements, therefore, work to help prevent deficiencies that can contribute to chronic conditions.

According to a recent article at Reader’s Digest, the one vitamin that is truly worth taking is Vitamin D.

What are the daily multivitamin supplements benefits? Should you be taking them or are they all marketing hype? Let's look at the truth behind multivitamins.

With a daily multivitamin supplement, you just simply swallow a single (or multiple) pills and you instantly get the proper daily serving – or very close to it – of vitamins and minerals that would otherwise be lacking in your body. The key here is convenience. Unfortunately, this is the end of the list in regards to the benefits of daily multivitamin supplements.

The dietary supplement industry is filled with deceitful advertisements that are full of lies and false claims. It is quite possible that you have heard claims that multivitamins will miraculously help you lose fat, build muscle, increase strength, improve performance; the list goes on. The truth of the matter is, besides being nutrition supplement fillers, the rest of the claims are exaggerations to make Americans overpay for a product.

Studies show that half of all American adults take multivitamins or supplements on a regular basis. The total for these pills exceeds $12 billion per year; money that might be better spent on things such as naturally nutritious foods like fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy products.

Yes, the vitamins and minerals found in daily multivitamin supplements do hold some truth in marketing industry’s claims and advertisements. However, multivitamins still are not capable of directly helping you achieve those types of goals no matter what the supplement company asserts. Only an appropriate diet and exercise is capable of doing that.
