Have you heard of the vitamin E hair growth remedy? It's supposed to help those with hair loss. But, is this natural remedy for growing hair effective?

Are you getting enough tocopherol in your diet? Also known as vitamin E, tocopherols are a powerful group of antioxidants.

These compounds fight free radicals. If left unchecked, they can lead to premature aging and disease. And, vitamin E helps fight inflammation throughout the body, including the heart.

So make sure you’re eating enough almonds, spinach, sweet potatoes and avocados, which are all good sources.

Vitamin E is crucial for good health. It helps improve circulation throughout the body.

Some people even swear that a vitamin E hair growth remedy is an effective treatment for hair loss. But, is there any merit to using it for hair loss? Let’s take a look….

It’s a natural beauty method that’s been used for centuries. And, this treatment has recently become trendy. It involves using vitamin E oil for hair loss reduction and hair regrowth.

Is using vitamin E for hair growth the stuff of folklore? Would the mainstream medical establishment scoff at it as a natural hair loss prevention method?

There’s no denying that vitamin E can help prevent heart disease. Part of the reason it’s beneficial for health is its ability to increase circulation in the body. This includes the head and scalp. Your head needs adequate circulation for healthy hair follicles.

Is Vitamin E hair growth supported by research?

Vitamin E’s effectiveness for hair growth has been clinically proven in some limited research studies. One study proved that supplementation with tocotrienol (a group of compounds found in vitamin E) capsules increased the amount of hair in the study participants compared to the placebo group.

The researchers concluded that a possible explanation for the vitamin E hair growth could be due to the potent antioxidant activity of it. This activity helps to reduce oxidative stress in the scalp which is known to be associated with the hair loss disease, alopecia.

Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled studies, are considered the gold standard in medical research. There seems to be insufficient gold-standard studies proving that vitamin E hair growth is real.

There are only a limited number of studies that have been done. And, they involved a small number of human subjects or used rodent models. But, that’s not to say vitamin E can’t prevent hair loss. Many people have used either vitamin E oil or capsules successfully for hair growth.

Vitamin E oil for hair growth

Vitamin E oil is considered an essential oil. The essential oil soothes the scalp.

Some people are skeptical of vitamin E’s effectiveness at promoting hair growth. They may think, “If the hair follicles are already dead, how can vitamin E oil bring them back to life?”

The answer: it’s all in the sebum. Sebum is the oily secretion of the sebaceous glands.

The sebaceous glands helps prevent hair and skin from drying out. Sebaceous glands are usually attached to hair follicles. Vitamin E essential oil helps increase the production of sebum that gives your hair its shiny glow.

As mentioned above, one of the main health benefits of vitamin E is increased blood flow. This includes increased blood flow to the scalp.

When blood circulation improves in the head and scalp, it’s possible that this physiological action creates an environment that will allow for your hair to grow. Or, at the very least, this action may put a halt to losing more hair.

In addition, Vitamin E oil helps condition the hair from the root all the way to the shaft. That’s why many shampoos contain vitamin E oil.

Is vitamin E oil good for hair?

As mentioned above, there are relatively few studies that support vitamin E oil’s efficacy on hair growth. There are even fewer studies that exist involving, specifically, vitamin E oil for hair.

The studies involved vitamin E capsules or vitamin E dietary sources, or, vitamin E in conjunction with vitamin C. Vitamin C and E are both antioxidants and work together, enhancing each other’s benefits.

Despite the lack of studies, there does seem to be benefits of using vitamin E oil for healthy hair. In addition to facilitating a healthy environment for hair roots, vitamin E oil can help treat dandruff.

If left untreated, dandruff may potentially interfere with hair growth. That’s because the dandruff dries out the natural oils found in the hair follicles.

Vitamin E is added to many skin creams. If you spend a lot of time in the sun, vitamin E oil may ward off the effect’s of the sun’s ultraviolet rays. These UV rays may also damage hair follicles, which is another reason why vitamin E may be good for hair.

Another possible benefit of vitamin E oil for hair: reducing split ends.

Vitamin E capsules for hair growth reviews

Many people swear by taking vitamin E capsules for hair growth. Vitamin E capsules are not necessarily a magic pill that turn grey hairs dark overnight.

There are a lot of people who have seen positive results with vitamin E capsules for hair growth. However, it usually takes at least a couple of weeks before any results are noticed. So, you’ll need to be patient when trying this natural hair loss remedy.
