With our busy lifestyles, it can be hard to fit the gym into our schedules. It’s tough just trying to find a way to spend a little quality time together with every member of the family going in different directions.

So, how do you squeeze in regular workouts into such a busy routine? It’s not as hard as you may think to fit some exercise into your day and life a healthier lifestyle.

But, you do need to keep some things in mind. In order for you to live a healthy life, you need to understand a few key facts.

Exercising will only help if you are making healthy choices in other areas of your life too. Food plays a big part, so you’ll want to eat healthy natural foods and skip the junk food.

Exercise without gym equipment

You don’t have to run on the treadmill for 2 hours to get enough exercise.  In fact, you can easily exercise without gym equipment.

Exercise is anything that elevates your heart rate and gets you moving. However, it’s tough for people to get started become it takes your body outside of its normal comfort zone.

Your diet is responsible for 80-90% of your success or failure when it comes to losing weight and living healthier.

If you could only fix one thing, your diet or exercising routine, it’s best fix your diet. It will help you reach your health goals faster every time. We recommend a low carb diet.

Exercise without gym equipment

Exercise is a bonus.  It helps your heart get stronger, builds strength, and brings you many other health benefits.

If you work out outside, you’ll also get the benefit of absorbing sun for vitamin D. And, it’s so easy to get your exercise without gym equipment!

You should also keep in mind that working out is not an excuse to eat a bunch of junk food. Instead, you need to shift your mindset.

Don’t think “I earned this” when it comes to food rewards. Rather, you need to start thinking, “If I’m going to exercise, I might as well make it worthwhile by eating right too.”

Ready to get moving? Now that you know the basics, we’ve listed five great ways to exercise without gym equipment every day.

5 Ways to Exercise without Gym Equipment

1. Walking

Go for a brisk 15-minute walk to get your heart rate up and stretch your legs.  Instead of meeting a friend for coffee, meet for a walk instead.

The best time for walking is shortly after eating. Why not take the whole family out for an after-dinner walk to spend some quality time together?

2. Dancing

It’s great to dance around the house while you clean. Or, you can sign up for a Ballroom Dancing class at a local studio.

Dancing is fun. It doesn’t feel like exercise, but it gets the job done.

3. Play with your kids

Kids are full of energy, so why not capitalize on that? Play tag or chase, take them to a tennis court and hit balls back and forth, or go to the park and climb the jungle gym together.

Playing with the kids good exercise. And, it’s great quality time that your kids will enjoy.

4. Clean

Cleaning house is a necessary evil.  There aren’t many people who actually enjoy it. 

The house needs to be cleaned anyway. Why not get some physical benefit from it?

Put on your favorite playlist and challenge yourself to see how much you can get done by the end of a song.  It will get you moving faster and get the job over with quicker!

5. Make it part of your routine

There are small changes you can make to your daily routine. If you stand in front of the mirror every morning blow drying your hair, make good use of the time by doing some squats or standing ab crunches.

There’s even things you can do while watching TV. Get up during the commercial breaks of your favorite show and jog around the house or do push-ups.

Just 5 or 10 minutes here and there will help you reach your goals faster.  Just 7 minutes throughout the day can easily help you fit an hour of exercise into your busy day.
