Moringa weight loss supplements have become popular for those needing to reduce belly fat and shed pounds. But do these teas, pills, and powders really work if you’re trying to lose weight?

Moringa weight loss teas, pills and powders have become a popular all-natural remedy. But does moringa really work if you're trying to lose weight?

If you haven’t heard of the nutritional therapy A-lister moringa, read on to discover weight loss benefits and more. From powder, seeds, pills and even spa masks, Moringa oleifera is virtually as ubiquitous today as açai or mangosteen was a decade ago.

Actually, don’t stop pounding those turmeric shots. With dozens of therapeutic uses, turmeric should be part of your regular routine.

Also adding in moringa supplements to your routine is something to consider. That’s because this tropical and subtropical plant native to northern India also possesses numerous clinically-proven health benefits.

But is weight loss one of them? It’s a topic making the rounds on tons of natural health websites. And there’s plenty of moringa weight loss reviews to back it up. So let’s dig a little deeper.

What makes moringa healthy? Does it have the backing of research studies? And what are some easy ways to incorporate moringa into your daily routine?

After learning more about moringa, you’ll likely be inclined to keep some moringa right next to the turmeric spice in your kitchen.

Health benefits of moringa leaf powder

If you’re reading this dying to know if moringa weight loss really works, be patient. We’ll get to that shortly. But first, let’s review some moringa health benefits.

An easy way to get the health benefits of moringa is by using a powder. Moringa leaf powder is rich in vitamins as well as non-vitamin antioxidants. It’s also a great source of minerals and protein.

The leaf extract of moringa contains the most amount of antioxidants. And according to this study, moringa leaf is very safe to use. “No adverse effects were reported in association with human studies,” says the research.

And according to this study, moringa leaf has a rich and rare combination of zeatin, quercetin, beta-sitosterol, caffeoylquinic acid and kaempferol. Let’s take a look at what these alien-sounding substances are and what their functions are….

Zeatin is a plant hormone. It helps prevent premature aging, including in the skin. That’s one reason you’ll find moringa masks. Next, quercetin is an antioxidant in plant foods. Antioxidants help keep disease from forming.

Another compound in moringa leaf is beta-sitosterol. This is a compound found in plants. Think of beta-sitosterol as natural plant cholesterol.

Unfortunately, it’s hard to get enough beta-sitosterol from diet alone. Which makes moringa leaf powder a great dietary supplement.

One of the benefits of beta-sitosterol is lowering blood cholesterol. In other words, this natural cholesterol-like substance in plants can lower human cholesterol in the blood.

Next, caffeoylquinic acid is also a natural plant compound. According to research, it contains potent anti-influenza properties. And finally, kaempferol is another antioxidant. It’s found in many fruits and vegetables.

Kaempferol may prevent arteriosclerosis (hardening of the arteries). It does this by preventing bad cholesterol from oxidizing. In addition, kaempferol produces platelets in the blood. Platelets repair blood vessels.

Moringa leaf benefits for women

Moringa oleifera leaf extract might also help you if you have a sluggish thyroid. That’s according to this study on adult Swiss rats. (It’s not clear if moringa works for adult French or German rats.)

The study of the Swiss rats suggests Moringa leaf extract is more effective for females. However, not all hope is lost for male rats. Especially, for rats that are underperforming in the bedroom (or lab cages).

The fact is, according to this study that moringa extract can enhance sexual performance in stressed-out male rats.

But back to moringa benefits for ladies only. This analysis looks at 6 studies on the efficacy of moringa for lactation. The conclusion: moringa can significantly increase milk production 4-7 days after treatment, according to the research.

Moringa health benefits

Here’s why you’ll want to always stock moringa in your kitchen. Moringa, in its various forms, offers the following health benefits, according to this research review:

  • Protects the heart
  • Improves circulation
  • Prevents tumors
  • Reduces fever
  • Controls seizures
  • Counteracts inflammation
  • Fights ulcers
  • Eliminates spasms
  • Helps detoxify by promoting urination
  • Normalizes blood pressure
  • Lowers LDL (so-called “bad”) cholesterol
  • Protects the liver
  • Kills bacteria and fungus

Moringa weight loss teas, pills and powders have become a popular all-natural remedy. But does moringa really work if you're trying to lose weight?

Moringa weight loss

If you want to lose weight, here’s why moringa weight loss might work….

Two other health benefits of moringa is that it prevents high blood sugar levels. And, it also prevents fat accumulation in the blood.

There are at least five human studies using moringa powder leaf. These studies suggest moringa can prevent diabetes. By lowering blood sugar and removing fat from the blood, moringa may encourage weight loss.

(In addition to the numerous benefits above, moringa may also help protect your bodily tissues and manage pain. Remarkably, moringa can also neutralize damage from radiation.)

Moringa tea

If you’re interested in the possibility of weight loss, you can drink the tea form. In fact, research does suggest moringa weight loss tea works.

One study examines three herbs in a formula called Adipromin. Moringa is one of the herbs in the formula. The researchers conclude this formula may encourage healthy blood sugar levels. This is especially true of people with obese people who have type 2 diabetes.

Also, this study concludes moringa reduces weight gain in mice. The same study also finds that the mice needed less insulin.

The more insulin you need, the more weight you’ll likely put on. Furthermore, if you’re insulin resistant, meaning, you need more insulin to control blood sugar, the more likely you are to develop type 2 diabetes.

In addition, the same study concludes that moringa slows the process, gluconeogenesis in the liver. This process converts the protein and dietary fat you eat into glucose (sugar) for the brain to function.

Therefore, the slower the conversion into glucose, the less likely weight gain will occur. That’s because any sugar in the body that’s not being immediately used for energy will be stored as body fat.

How to use moringa weight loss tea

According to this article on moringa weight loss tea, you can grow your own. Fortunately, if you’re trying to lose weight, moringa plant now grows in many different parts of the world.

You can buy  moringa seeds online. After you get the seeds, you can soak them. Then, simply plant and cultivate when ready.

A typical recipe for moringa weight loss tea includes cinnamon, ginger, green tea and moringa leaves. Cinnamon also helps control blood sugar.

Again, weight gain and high blood sugar levels are often connected. Therefore, making the tea with cinnamon may indeed help at least prevent weight gain, if not encourage weight loss.

Of course, there’s also the option of buying a prepared moringa tea online (like this one).

Eating moringa seeds

Another way to get the benefits of moringa weight loss is by eating the seeds. According to the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, moringa seeds are healthy for many reasons.

First of all, they are very high in monounsaturated fatty acids, like olive oil. Oils high in monounsaturated fat are great for your heart. People with higher intakes of monounsaturated fats tend to be slimmer.

In addition, another benefit of moringa seeds is the protein in them is easy to digest. In fact, moringa seeds have a digestibility of over 90%.

Furthermore, besides weight loss, there might be other benefits of eating moringa seeds. In traditional cultures, the seeds are used to treat pain and to improve digestion.

Also, moringa seeds are used in developing countries to control infections. That’s because the seeds contain strong antibacterial and antifungal properties.

Moreover, moringa seeds also kill microbes. For this reason, the seeds might serve as a low-cost water purifier in countries with developing economies.

And according to research, moringa seed extract can help fight asthma and arthritis.

Moringa weight loss conclusion

The proof is in the research. Moringa weight loss seems to be scientifically-proven. It’s rich in antioxidants and anti inflammatory compounds.

Because of its ability to naturally lower blood sugar and remove fat in the blood, moringa might even help you lose weight. If it doesn’t the numerous health benefits it possesses certainly makes it worth keeping in the pantry … along with turmeric.
